"Every year, at Halloween, this town goes batshit crazy!" The directors of THE DESCENT, MAY, MOTHER'S DAY, and BIG ASS SPIDER! bring you TALES FROM HALLOWEEN!

It wasn’t that long ago that horror anthology films, like CREEPSHOW III and (tragically) TRICK R TREAT, were designated as uncommercial and relegated to the world of DTV. The V/H/S series has arguably proved their viability, and now we’ve got two cool anthology films to look forward to: Michael Dougherty’s TRICK R TREAT follow-up, KRAMPUS, and this cool-looking number.

TALES OF HALLOWEEN features ten segments, including ones directed by Neil Marshall, Darren Lynn Bousman, Lucky McKee, Adam Gierasch & Jace Anderson. They all revolve around one particularly haunt-friendly town on, you guessed it, All Hallows Eve.

A lot of familiar genre faces pop up in these stories: Barry Bostwick (ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW), Lin Shaye (INSIDIOUS, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET), Adrienne Barbeau (THE FOG, CREEPSHOW) Pat Healy (THE INNKEEPERS), Greg Grunberg (HOLLOW MAN), Alex Essoe (STARRY EYES), Jose Pablo Cantillo (WALKING DEAD), Keir Gilchrist (IT FOLLOWS), and Noah Segan (STARRY EYES), not to mention filmmakers like John Landis (who still basically owns the director-cameo thing), Joe Dante, Stuart Gordon, Mick Garris, and Adam Green.

We don’t get a whole lot to work with in this trailer, but I like the creatures we do get glimpses of, and the production values definitely seem to be up to snuff. I’m a sucker for a good horror anthology, and this looks like it could have at least a few segments that stand out and make the whole thing worthwhile.

And in case you didn’t know: aside from THE DESCENT, DOG SOLDIERS, DOOMSDAY, and CENTURION, Neil Marshall has also directed two of your favorite GAME OF THRONES episodes, “Blackwater” and “The Watchers On The Wall” (yes, the Wilding vs. Castle Black ep), as well as an upcoming HANNIBAL (promisingly titled, “The Great Red Dragon”).

TALES FROM HALLOWEEN wants its cake on October 16th.
