What is going on over at NBC?
It makes sense that the peacock network is moving “Hannibal” to Saturdays beginning next week. The Bryan Fuller hourlong is pulling atrocious ratings and was long ago designated cancelled.
Saturdays offer the smallest primetime audience of the week; it is where networks send failed series like “The McCarthys” and “The Millers” to die in obscurity.
But “Aquarius,” which also garners dismal ratings, is already renewed for a second season!
The fact that the entire first season of “Aquarius” dumped onto nbc.com and On Demand the night of the “Aquarius” premiere has everything to do with this, I'm certain.
I wonder if NBC intends another season-dump for “Aquarius” next season. Advertisers must love the fact that viewers can’t fast-forward through commercials when they watch the show online or On Demand.
Did NBC make so much money from the Netflix-style season-dump they don’t care how few people watch the actual broadcast?
Anyway, “Hannibal” is entering into its adaptation of “Red Dragon,” so be sure to keep watching even if you see “Dateline” in its slot this Thursday,
