Mark Frost: Showtime’s
TWIN PEAKS Delayed Till 2017!!

I am – Hercules!!

Showtime isn’t yet commenting, but “Twin Peaks” co-showrunner Mark Frost says the third season of “Twin Peaks” won’t hit the pay-cable channel until 2017.

Showtime’s October 2014 announcement indicated the revival would launch in 2016.

“We’ve finished the scripts, we start production in September, and that will be coming out on Showtime sometime in 2017,” Frost told Baseball Hall’s Bill Francis.

Of course a lot has changed since Showtime’s October announcement, which was apparently made before “Peaks” co-creator David Lynch’s contract was finalized.

Lynch finally and formally signed on to the project on May 15. During Lynch’s springtime negotiation with Showtime, the series order doubled from nine episodes to 18.

Showtime announced in January that Kyle MacLachlan would be reprising the role of FBI special agent Dale Cooper for the project.  A few actresses from the original ABC series, including Sherilyn Fenn (who played hotel heiress Audrey Horne), have indicated that they've been told they're returning, but Showtime has yet to make any additional casting announcements.

With production launching in September, we'll obviously be hearing a lot of "Twin Peaks" casting news soon.
