January brings to Fox the first of six new episodes of “The X-Files.”
Original “X-Files” mastermind Chris Carter is supervising the 2016 revival.
The last time we saw Mulder and Scully, in the 2008 “X-Files” movie, the duo was depicted no longer in the FBI’s employ. Mitch Pileggi reprises his Walter Skinner role in the miniseries, and I confess I’m curious to know if Mulder and Scully rejoined the agency and, if so, what managed to lure both of them back at the same time.
Perhaps Mulder’s dialogue near the end of the promo offers a clue?
Also back for the miniseries is William B. Davis, who played the enigmatic Cancer Man in the original 1993-2002 Fox series. This despite the fact that Knowle Rohrer blew Cancer Man to bits with a rocket in the 2002 series finale. (Moments before Cancer Man’s death, he revealed to Mulder and Scully that an extraterrestrial invasion was scheduled to commence in 2012. So that might be a plot point?)
