Looks like Darth Vader could appear in Star Wars: Rogue One!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Since the premise of the first Star Wars spin-off movie (or Star Wars Anthology as Lucasfilm dubs these one-offs) was confirmed there has been a ton of speculation about what we're going to see.

Gareth Edwards' film is going to be a pretty hardcore war picture if the presentation at Star Wars Celebration is to be believed. The focus is going to be soldiers behind enemy lines. I'm sure they'll be badass in their own individual ways, but they are not going to be flipping around and deflecting blaster shots with a laser sword. That means the stakes are going to be cranked up.

While we know this team is ultimately going to be successful in stealing the Death Star plans we don't know the cost they're going to pay to pull it off and that is where things get interesting for me.

Devin Faraci over at Birth.Movies.Death has had some really solid Star Wars info in the past and now he's at it again, saying a source has informed him that Darth Vader himself will be a presence in the film.

This isn't the conflicted Anakin Skywalker from Jedi. At this point in the Star Wars timeline Darth Vader is a lean mean killing machine and the idea of these normal soldiers having to slip by him to achieve their ultimate goal is pretty exciting.

There is no winning if Vader ever corners our heroes in this film, which means Edwards and his cohorts have opened up the door for some pretty intense moments.

This one is sounding better all the time. No word if James Earl Jones is going to return to voice Vader, but we do know he voiced the Dark Lord of the Sith for Star Wars Rebels, so I'd guess they'll go back to him as long as he's willing and able to step up to the microphone.

Thoughts?
