Last year, HBO Canada premiered a documentary by William Shatner called CHAOS ON THE BRIDGE. The piece explored the trials, tribulations, and truths of the creation and production of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION.
To the best of my knowledge, the doc was not transmitted here in the States. But it’s newly available to rent on Vimeo now, and here’s a trailer for it…

Meanwhile, EW has a look at a clip from the film - offering some interesting insight into the casting of Patrick Stewart as the series’ iconic ‘Captain Jean-Luc Picard.’ You can see that HERE.
Knowing something of what went on behind the scenes of TREK: TNG, there’s probably a whole miniseries worth of amazing and startling stories and material waiting to be dragged into the light. It’ll be interesting to see what made it into CHAOS’ relatively scant 59 minute runtime…
