Shades of George R.R. Martin and Robert Kirkman!
Speaking on the red carpet at the Saturn Awards, Bryan Fuller revealed that Neil Gaiman would be scripting “episodes” of the upcoming Starz series based on Gaiman’s book “American Gods.”
In addition to writing comics and books, Gaiman has plenty of screenwriting experience. His scripting resume includes an episode of “Babylon 5,” two episodes of “Doctor Who” the Robert Zemeckis movie “Beowulf.”
Gaiman’s 2001 novel is about the old gods and the new gods battling for supremacy in the world of men.
The amazing Bryan Fuller -- creator of “Dead Like Me,” “Wonderfalls,” “Pushing Daisies” and NBC’s version of “Hannibal” -- is msterminding the project with Michael Green, who worked with Fuller on the first, best season of “Heroes.”
Separately, Green wrote for “Smallville,” “Everwood,” “Kings,” “The River,” “The Flash” series and the Ryan Reynolds “Green Lantern” movie.
Gaiman may still be best known for creating Dream and his Endless family for the “Sandman” comics way back in the 1980s.
