MY NAME IS MALALA focuses is a film documenting the life and work of teenager Malala Yousafzai. She was shot in the head by Talaban members for daring to believe that women have the right to an education. She survived the attack, and refused to be silenced, instead, dedicating her life to speaking out for women and girls worldwide and advocating their right to learn and receive an education, the same as their male counterparts.
The Nobel Prize-winning advocate is now the subject of a documentary that explores her personal life and history as much as her political stances. Directed by Davis Guggenheim (WAITING FOR SUPERMAN, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH), this film promises to be an emotional and eye-opening experience, regardless of whether you are already familiar with her work or not.
