The third season of “The Newsroom” is a glorious season indeed. Olivia Munn continued to sell her bona fides as a nailer of comedy. Marcia Gay Harden was hilarious as a recurring attorney Becca Halliday, and Kat Dennings was hilarious as a huge-boobed media heiress. Paul Leiberstein, who played Toby on NBC’s “The Office,” joined “The Newsroom” as executive producer and was highly entertaining as a deputy assistant EPA administrator who gets himself in a fix.

Aaron Sorkin (“The Social Network,” “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “Moneyball”) wrote every third-season episode, and here are some hints of the genius he brought:
