Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. You'll have to forgive my giddy excitement for this, but Bethesda finally announcing Fallout 4 is right up there with Han Solo saying “We're home,” for me.
They teased it yesterday and just a few mere minutes ago they dropped the announcement trailer:
It's a first look and it tickled all the Fallout imagery I wanted. Mr. Handy? Check. Sugar Bombs? Check. Nuka-Cola? Check. Bobbleheads? Check? Mushroom clouds? Check. Ink Spots playing? Check. Ron Perlman saying “War never changes”? Big ol' check.
While they haven't announced a release date yet, Bethesda has shown us the box art for the game, which will be next-gen only for consoles (PS4, Xbox One) as well as PC.
The pre-order page on the official site just takes you to the generic Fallout pages of Gamestop, Amazon and Best Buy. I'll update this article if they announce solid pre-orders and/or a release date, but I'd assume that info might be held until their big E3 event this coming June 14th, 7pm PST.
I just hope that wherever Vault 111 is (couldn't tell if it's Boston from the footage in the trailer, but I'm sure those more familiar with Boston landmarks can confirm if there's a hint or two dropped in there) they have a really strong antenna. What fun will it be wandering the wastes without my trusty GNR stream of golden oldies hosted by Three Dog?
