I gather this time around the dim, unlucky Dirt is transported back to 1965, where he cunningly wipes himself out of existence.
SNL alumnus Fred Wolf, who co-wrote the 2001 original with David Spade, writes and directs the Direct-To-Crackle sequel “Joe Dirt 2: Beatiful Loser,” which also brings back actors Dennis Miller, Christopher Walken, Adam Beach and Brittany Daniel.
Newcomers to the series include Patrick Warburton and Mark McGrath.
“Joe Dirt” only scores 11% positive on Rotten Tomatoes, and I feel very alone when I say I love to pieces Spade’s original 90-minute big-screen love-letter to American white trash, and even believe it tinged with comedy genius.
Crackle starts streaming it July 18.
