Jason Blum comes to the rescue for Eli Roth's Cannibal flick THE GREEN INFERNO!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Eli Roth has announced via his Facebook page that Blumhouse's Jason Blum will be picking up his discarded Cannibal flick THE GREEN INFERNO for distribution.

You may remember Open Road and WorldView Entertainment kinda abandoned the release plan when producers began fighting about money and producer credits and suddenly nobody wanted to actually foot the bill for the marketing and release of Roth's flick, which had played to mixed reviews from genre fest goers.

With the rights jumbled and the film pulled who knew if Green Inferno would ever see the light of day. In fact, I'd say most assumed it would be one of those films that sat on a shelf for years before finally seeing release, if at all.

Well, Blumhouse has come to the rescue and will be releasing the gory fucked up people-eating flick in theaters on September 25th of this year via their Blumhouse Tilt company.

The movie wasn't my favorite when I saw it at Fantastic Fest, but that has more to do with me not being a massive cannibal film fan. It's a particular horror subgenre that I keep trying and never leaves a good taste in my mouth (I'm so, so sorry... I couldn't resist). There's no question that Roth made a film that fits in with the likes of Cannibal Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox. If that's your bag, you sicko, then you'll love this flick.

Congrats to all involved!
