Behold Tom Hardy Psuedo-Singing (Sorta) In This Clip From LONDON ROAD!!

LONDON ROAD is a musical on the way to UK screens June 12.

It’s based on a 2011 musical stage production by UK’s National Theater which was directed by Rufus Norris, who reprises that duty on this film version.

The concept tracks the impact of five murders on the town of Ipswich.

Says Wiki…

The piece is written in verbatim style, meaning the spoken text is reproduced by the performers exactly as recorded in interviews, in this case conducted by Blythe with the residents of London Road and some of the women who worked as prostitutes there, as well as members of the media who gathered in the area to report the news. The lyrics in the musical segments are similarly derived from the interviews as recorded, with the meter, pitch and rhythm of the music following the patterns of the original recorded speech as closely as possible.

Tom Hardy appears in the movie as ‘Taxi Driver Mark’…

The Powers That Be have issued a clip of Hardy’s work in the picture, which appears below.

Weird?  Yeah - I suppose it kinda is.  But this also seems like it could be rather interesting.  No word on when or if it’ll hit the US, we’ll let you know when we find out…
