Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with even more superhero casting news. We heard about Tilda Swinton in Doctor Strange and now we've got a little somethin'-somethin' from the DC Universe.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Wonder Woman is looking for a gentleman caller and that she might have found her Prince Charming in Captain Kirk.
Chris Pine is said to be close to signing on to play Steve Trevor, who is pretty much the Lois Lane to Wonder Woman's Superman. I dig the role reversal, but who knows if they're going to go for the earlier comic dynamics or the more recent New 52 version where he's a UN liason to the Justice League and not the starry-eyed officer who crash-lands on Paradise Island.
The Wonder Woman flick seems to be on the fast track with Patty Jenkins filling the director's chair. It's an interesting time for the DC cinematic universe. A whole is riding on Batman v Superman, not the least of which is seeing if Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman works or not. It's a tricky character, but if they get her right it's going to be huge for them.
