Vincent D’Onofrio (MEN IN BLACK, the DAREDEVIL Netflix series, JURASSIC WORLD) is taking the badguy role in the upcoming big screen adaptation of CHiPS.
Plot details are being kept holstered, but it does involve an exotic-car theft ring.
D’Onofrio will play the auto-stealing ringleader, a ruthless former cop.

Dax Shepard and Michael Pena will star as Jon Baker and Frank Poncherello, the two California Highway Patrol motorcycle cop roles originated by Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada (respectively) in the NBC series which ran from 1977 through 1983. Shepard is helming the film and is also credited as a co-writer on the picture.
No word yet on a formal release date.
