Live in Chicago? Capone has seats for an early screening of Pixar's INSIDE OUT, with director Pete Docter & producer Jonas Rivera Q&A!!!

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.

So what are the emotions that run your every life choice, that guide you through the perilous and turn you into a goofball? Pixar’s latest, INSIDE OUT, attempts to answer these and other questions about the workings of the human mind with the help of five core emotions—Joy, voiced by Amy Poehler; Sadness, Phyllis Smith; Disgust, Mindy Kaling; Fear, Bill Hader; and Anger, Lewis Black—all of whom contribute to the mental make up of an 11-year-old girl named Riley (Kaitlyn Dias), who has just made the trip with her parents from Minnesota to San Francisco, and is going through a rough adjustment period that is putting her emotions to the test. It’s a funny, clever and deeply emotional journey that is easily one of the best films the animation studio has put out in years.

This particular offering is the product of director and co-writer Peter Docter, one of the longest employees of Pixar. He has had a hand in screenplays for TOY STORY, WALL-E, MONSTERS INC. (which he directed) and UP (which he also directed, and subsequently won a Best Animated Feature Academy Award). And I’d like to invite a select number of Chicago-area Ain’t It Cool News readers to the Chicago premiere of INSIDE OUT, featuring a post-screening Q&A with director Pete Docter and producer Jonas Rivera, who has worked in various capacities on such Pixar features as A BUG’S LIFE, CARS, MONSTERS INC, and UP. Here are the details on the screening and how to win…

This advance Chicago screening of Pixar’s INSIDE OUT will take place Monday, June 1 at 7:30pm at a theater in downtown Chicago (the exact location will only be given to those who win). All winners must check in and collect your tickets no later than 7:00pm, or your seats will be given away.

To win, send me an email to InsideOutChicago@aintitcoolmail.com (please note the new email address) with the subject line “Voices Inside My Head” (exactly like that). In the body of the email, I need your Name, whether or not you're bringing a Guest (winners can bring one guest, whose name is not required), and the answer to the following question: “What is the name of the dominant emotion in your head, and why?” I’m looking for the name of an emotion (it doesn’t have to be one of the five in INSIDE OUT) and a well-thought-out reason that one is your choice; competition for these seats will be tough, so give me good answers. Winners will hear from me soon, so keep an eye on your email over the next couple of days.

Although this screening is NOT exclusively for AICN readers, winners’ seats will be reserved until 7:00pm, at which point your seats will be given away. So you should arrive early to make sure you get in and get a good seat. If you can't arrive early, don't enter this contest. If there's even the slightest chance you or your guest will have to back out of attending if you do win, don't enter. If you have a job that might make you late or unable to attend, or an ill/pregnant relative, or a temperamental significant other, or a scratchy throat, do not enter.

I want you to read the previous paragraph and this paragraph very carefully. We've had way too many last-minute cancellations at recent screenings, so the 24-hour cancellation policy does not apply for this screening. If you enter this contest, win, and cancel or don't show up for ANY REASON, the black list will become your new best friend.

Good luck, everyone! And thanks to Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures for giving us this great screening and bringing our guests to Chicago.
