‘It’s Me, Mom!!’
Tuesday Brings
FLASH Finale!!

I am – Hercules!!

Tonight brings the season’s final “Flash.” ShermDawg recaps last week’s almost-last one:

Previously on "The Flash"...

* Barry escaped the clutches of Gorilla Grodd, who Harrison Wells used to distract Team Flash from tracking him and the captive Eddie Thawne down.

* Cisco discovers Dr.Wells' wheelchair served as a supercharger for Reverse-Flash's speed after finding an advanced power source hidden within it. He believes that's why Wells is so much faster than Barry.

* Team Flash are shocked to learn Wells had been hiding right under their nose in the particle accelerator pipeline at S.T.A.R. Labs once he powers it up with the device he built the previous episode.

* A device, Eddie (who they found in the pipeline) tells them is the key to getting Wells home. Later on, after coming to terms with the revelation that she would ultimately wind up with Barry, Eddie ends his relationship with Iris West.

* Realizing the meta-human prisoners they had been holding within the particle accelerator were in danger, Team Flash put in motion a plan to hand them over to A.R.G.U.S. for transport to their prison facility on Lian Yu, the island Oliver Queen was once stranded on and where "Captain Boomerang" and "Deathstroke" are currently being held.

* Barry foolishly seeks the help of "Captain Cold", Leonard Snart to help escort the prisoners when Joe's request for backup is shot down by the D.A. after pointing out that regardless of their crimes, the prisoners had been unlawfully detained at S.T.A.R. Labs. Snart agrees to Barry's request, but only if all criminal records of him and his family are destroyed. Against Joe's wishes, Barry complies. (Instead of having Cisco build another freeze gun, or asking Firestorm to assist.)

* Cisco modifies a tractor trailer with super power dampeners to safely transport the meta-humans (If only he had came up with something similar when trying to trap Dr.Wells, or stop Gorilla Grodd, or generally any super villain they faced over the course of the season.)

* Snart, along with his sister Lisa (who Cisco dubs "The Golden Glider") join Team Flash to escort S.T.A.R. Labs' prisoners including Mark "Weather Wizard" Mardon, Roy "Rainbow Raider" Bivolo, "Deathbolt" Jake Simmons, Shawna "Peek-a-boo" Baez, and Kyle Nimbus aka "The Mist".

* Once the team arrives at Ferris Airfield (which is revealed to have been closed after one of its pilots went missing!), the dampeners malfunction (thanks to Snart) and the villains make an escape attempt. A battle ensues, during which Mardon takes down the incoming A.R.G.U.S. transport plane.

*During the fight, Caitlin attacks Cisco when Bivolo unleashes his rage inducing power on her. It turns out (deep down) she still blames him for her boyfriend Ronnie's transformation into Firestorm.

*Before making his getaway, Snart saves Barry from a vengeful Simmons and tells him he was foolish for trusting him, he saw an opportunity to increase the membership of his "Rogues" and now they all owed him.

* Back at S.T.A.R. Labs the particle accelerator is fully charged and Wells (instead of racing in) stands outside silently challenging Barry to face him. He does, but is soon joined by "Firestorm" and Oliver Queen (who is all decked out in League of Assassin gear). Well's reveals his awesome costume ring and uses it to suit up.

* Barry and Firestorm get separated from the fight leaving Ollie to tussle with Wells where he cripples his superspeed thanks to nanite infused arrows courtesy of one Ray Palmer. Within seconds Reverse-Flash shakes off the effects and nearly kills Oliver before Barry and Firestorm make their way back to the battle and tag team Wells into submission along with the help of another nanite arrow.

Here's the big question, where does this battle fit into the Arrow timeline? It obviously takes place before the following clip in the Arrow finale...

... but before that point, the last time Ollie had traveled back to the States was when he returned to Starling to apprehend Nyssa, and during that period (when he was posing as the brainwashed heir to Ra's al Ghul's mantle) he wouldn't have been on friendly terms with Ray to request nanite infused arrows to disable Reverse-Flash. However it wasn't made clear if those nanite arrows specifically targeted a speedster or just meta-humans in general and if he already had them in his arsenal just in case Barry went off the rails (again) and needed to be taken down. Am I forgetting something from earlier in the season or on Arrow?

Whatever the case, all's well that ends Wells, and here's hoping tonight's finale is a satisfying cap to what's been an awesome first season of the most fun comic book adaptation this side of Guardians of the Galaxy.

So what are you guys expecting? Will Rip Hunter show up if Barry goes back in time? (I've avoided previews for the finale.) Will adjustments be made to the timeline to prevent the real Harrison Wells' death? Where do you think things will go next season? Also, what was your favorite season one moment?

Mine...

The CW says of tonight’s season finale, “Fast Enough”:

Wells (Tom Cavanagh) presents Barry (Grant Gustin) with a life-changing choice. Dr. Martin Stein (guest star Victor Garber) and Ronnie Raymond (guest star Robbie Amell) return to help the S.T.A.R. Labs team with this final fight. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Gabrielle Stanton & Andrew Kreisberg.

8 p.m. Tuesday. The CW.
