Longtime readers may recall my immature and incessant interest in someday being able to play a DOCTOR WHO-based LEGO video game. After all, I love DOCTOR WHO. And, I love LEGO. What better marriage could a dork like me hope for?
While(potentially) not exactly what I had in mind…which was something along the lines of the wonderful LEGO MARVEL or LEGO STAR WARS games…it’s looking like my dreams of playing a bricky Timelord may soon come to pass.
Seems an instruction book for the forthcoming LEGO DIMENSIONS game - which allows players to build construct LEGO game pieces that will then be transposed ‘into’ a video game via portal (a-la SKYLANDERS or DISNEY INFINITY) - will feature a DOCTOR WHO set.

The set will evidently join offerings from franchises like BACK TO THE FUTURE, THE SIMPSONS, JURASSIC WORLD, LEGO’s NINJAGO line, THE WIZARD OF OZ, SCOOBY DOO, and more. My understanindg of the matter based on what I’ve seen is that these universes will, to some degree at least, be able to cross over.

LEGO DIMENSIONS hits early Fall - no word yet on when the DOCTOR WHO set will arrive, although the starter sets, OZ figures, BACK TO THE FUTURE levels, and more are already up for pre-order.

Wales Online has some new images of Jenna Coleman shooting the new/upcoming Season?Series of DOCTOR WHO - likely to premiere late Summer/early Fall.
