THE MINDY
PROJECT
2012-2015

I am – Hercules!!

It turns out TV By The Numbers does get stuff wrong on occasion.

Despite “The Mindy Project’s” abysmal ratings, TVBTN on April 28 indicated that “Mindy” was “certain to be renewed by May 2015."

Well, here we are in May 2015 and Fox just announced “Mindy’s” cancellation.

Had Fox renewed “Mindy,” “Mindy” would have become one of the lowest-rated shows ever renewed by a Big Four broadcast network. “Mindy” began its first season with a 2.4 in the key demo, its second season with a 1.9 and its third and final season with a very on-the-bubble 1.3. “Mindy’s” final episode matched a personal-low 0.9 on March 24:

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly reports that Universal, which produces the show, is in “serious talks” with Hulu, which is mulling giving “Mindy” a fourth and a fifth season. Hulu already has streaming rights to all “Mindy” episodes.
