Look, it's time to accept that Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR isn't going to be anywhere near a classical depiction of the Baxter Building bunch. If that's what you want, you can just stay home when the film blasts into theaters on July 30, 2015. But one thing that's remained largely the same - at least as far as the promotional materials have led us to believe - are are the group's individual powers: Johnny Storm can ignite, Sue Storm can turn invisible and The Thing is very much The Thing. This means Reed Richards can stretch, right? Well, he can. In a manner of speaking. Here's an interesting biographical tidbit discovered by HitFix's Donna Dickens:
"He can warp the space around him, and appear to stretch his body into impossible forms and to incredible lengths." So his stretching is essentially an illusion? I'm not going to freak out or nothin', but this is a huge departure from every iteration of Reed Richards I know. Maybe there's a version out there that does this. Most importantly, maybe this works in the context of the film. But it's definitely... different.
