AREA 51, Oren Peli's follow-up to the massively successful PARANORMAL ACTIVITY is finally ready to hit theaters. The film was the director's next project in the wake of millions of theater-goers crapping their pants over his debut. Peli reportedly shot it back in 2008, but it wound up indefinitely shelved. Rumors circulated over the years that the film ws nearing completion, that reshoots were required and that the film was being reworked, but we haven't seen much in the way of actual footage until now.
But it looks like the wait is over, and the finished film will finally see the light of day next month.
AREA 51 continues Peli's use of found footage to tell the story of a group of documentarians who decided to infiltrate the legendary Area 51 military base and bring to light its deepest, darkest secrets.
AREA 51 will open in select theaters and on VOD on May 15th. What do you guys think? Excited for this one? Will it be worth the wait?
