Writer Robert Smigel, who created both Triumph The Insult Comic Dog and The Ambiguously Gay Duo, gets a “story” credit on tonight’s “Louie.” The first part of the episode, in which the title character faces down a hot young female store clerk who refuses to unlock a glass case for him, amuses. Then Michael Rapaport shows up as an obnoxious cop who was once romantically involved with Louie’s sister – and my sense of boredom went through the roof.
Even by The CW’s standards, “Reign” gets horrible ratings, but was long ago renewed for next season.
