The various LEGO movies have their release dates moved around like interchangable blocks!

We have a bunch of new release dates for the three in-development LEGO flicks that Yakko, Wakko, and Dot are cookin’ up in the Warner water tower.

Chris McKay’s LEGO BATMAN, featuring Will Arnett as the titular broody, plastic orphan, will drop almost exactly three years after the original LEGO MOVIE on February 10th, 2017. The only other movie scheduled for that day is the Rosamund Pike/Charlie Hunnam romance THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US…hardly a tough choice for the kids out there.

Later that year, we’ll have Charlie Bean’s NINJAGO, on September 22nd. It was originally set to come out just under a year earlier, on September 23rd of 2016, but we know that WB was fast-tracking LEGO BATMAN due to the popularity of the character (and perhaps some other BATMAN jams on the docket...), and it seems that’s taken priority over this more unproven property.

Then, finally, we see the return of Emmet, WyldStyle, Unikitty, and the rest of the gang in Rob Schrab’s THE LEGO MOVIE SEQUEL on May 18th, 2018, up a week from the 25th.

It’s no surprise that the massive critical and financial success of THE LEGO MOVIE has inspired them to go blocks-deep into the franchise like it’s Marvel, releasing three movies in two years. The question then becomes whether all (or even any) of these movies will be able to give us audiences that same sense of surprise and glee that Lord/Miller’s first flick did. But even if that’s too much to hope for, I’m looking forward to seeing what these three directors do with the CGI equivalent of the biggest, baddest LEGO set imaginable.

Which of these three LEGOramas most tickles your fancy?
