IMAX has entered into a new arrangement with Warner Bros - the large screen presenter is now set to host 30 of the studios’ plus-sized mega-movies.
Under the agreement, IMAX will be part of a number of high-profile tentpoles from Warner Bros. Pictures, including The Man from U.N.C.L.E. , In the Heart of the Sea, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Tarzan movie, the King Arthur movie, Suicide Squad, Geostorm, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Jungle Book: Origins, and Godzilla 2. The deal also encompasses a number of upcoming DC tentpoles, as well as future LEGO movies, including The LEGO Movie Sequel.

I’m a strong believer in bringing full-on theatrical films to IMAX screens, although one wonders if every one of the 30 titles which’ll be encompassed by this deal will actually deserve to be there. I’ve seen a few movies I’m not certain benefitted at all from being enlarged to such an extent, so I’m sure a few such ‘probably shouldn’t be embiggened’ pictures will find their way into this agreement along side the monsters.
