Some exciting casting news! The long-discussed sequel to Ridley Scott's BLADE RUNNER is heading toward production. We recently learned that Scott would not be dircting the film, and instead PRISONERS director Denis Villeneuve would be helming the project, which will also see the return of star Harrison Ford (who you may have noticed in that little EPISODE VII trailer that hit earlier today).
It looks like another actor has been cast - Ryan Gosling will be co-starring opposite Ford. No word at all as to what character he will be playing, or the role that character will be play in the story, but if we're being honest here, casting Ryan Gosling in your movie generally works out pretty well, regardless of the role.
What we do know is that the sequel will take place several decades after the original film. Production is set for next summer, so we'll likely be hearing more plot details and casting decisions in the coming months.
