There was little doubt that Sofia Boutella would be swiftly rewarded for her scene-stealing turn in KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE, so here we are: she's officially taken a "lead role" in STAR TREK 3! There's no word yet on who she'll play (and whether she'll be good or bad); we just know that she joins Idris Elba (definitely playing a villain) as a new addition to the Trek universe.
The script for STAR TREK 3 is being written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, which is huge relief after the Kurtzman-Orci debacle of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. Justin Lin is directing, which works for me. So far, so good on this one. Keep the good news coming, gang!
