A remake of Sam Raimi's THE GIFT? Nope! Joel Edgerton punishes those that punish the weirdoes! Good!

Hey folks, Harry here...  I don't know about you, but I'm really quite fond of Sam Raimi's THE GIFT - I remember in advance of the film coming out, folks were gossiping about alleged Katie Holmes nudity, and I remember when it premiered at BNAT, laughing my ass off (inside) because what the world got was... quite a bit macabre!  If you haven't seen the film, give it a shot - it isn't A SIMPLE PLAN brilliant, but it is still a very solid entry from Sam Raimi.

Now - if you are like me and a title like THE GIFT comes along, I head over to IMDB, just to check and see how many THE GIFTs are there - and for Exact Title Matches, I got 200, the vast majority of those being short films - which love the title. But there was nothing really useful there.

So - what is this THE GIFT and why should you care?

Did you see the film... THE SQUARE?  An absolutely fantastic Film Noir, that I said:

Now - that movie is absolutely extraordinary!  So great.   It was written by Joel Edgerton (the writer/director of THE GIFT), although it was directed by his brother Nash Edgerton - but... Joel...  aka OWEN LARS in ATTACK OF THE CLONES & REVENGE OF THE SITH!   Since then - Joel has been playing lots of Heavy Parts - and doing quite a good job.  But my biggest complaint about the parts he's getting is that they don't touch the genius of his part in THE SQUARE, which he basically had to create himself!  NOW - he's written a new Noir/Suspense two-faces to everyone type of film that... well..  Watch the trailer and see if you're as intrigued as me.   I can't wait to see this personally!

I think it is kinda cool that OWEN LARS is now a DIRECTOR and not a steamy burnt corpse on the farthest planet from the bright center of the Universe!
