DOPE generated a considerable amount of buzz when it premiered at Sundance earlier this year. Directed by Rick Famuyiwa, DOPE follows a group of teens who get caught on the wrong side of a drug deal gone bad, and have to figure out a way to set everything right.
This teaser doesn't show much footage from the film; instead, it serves more as a reminder that the 90's existed, and shows us everything we loved about the time period. The teaser has a great energy and dives straight into the nostalgic vibe that the film is said to carry. And in that, it is a roaring success - I am so excited to see more from this film.
DOPE stars Shamik Moore, Tony Revolori, Zoe Kravitz, Blake Anderson, Kiersey Clemons and A$AP Rocky. It opens on June 19th.
