Idris Elba - such a potent presence in PACIFIC RIM, LUTHER, and MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM - is evidently in ‘early talks’ to appear as the ‘villain’ in the upcoming picture, which’ll be produced by J.J. Abrams and helmed by FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise’s Justin Lin.
As stated above, we’ve no word at this time regarding Elba’s alleged role, although recurring and still unconfirmed scuttlebutt suggests Klingons will play a larger part in this picture than they have in previous Abramsverse franchise entries to date.
Thus, one must logically ponder: might we be getting an Elba Klingon here? We must also ponder: how badass would that be?
The third STAR TREK is targeting a July 2016 release.
