A few days ago I tried to post this, but the site simply wouldn’t have it. She’s a harsh mistress, this one. And random it would seem. Because…today? There doesn’t seem to be a problem with otherwise mundane matters like pesky embeds.
Accordingly…
Here’s over 7 minutes of gameplay footage (captured via PS4) from ARKHAM KNIGHT, the next installment in the hugely popular sequence of BATMAN games, due late June.
When I saw the first few minutes of this material, I was immediately struck by how handsome its cinematics were - both from a ‘cinematography’ standpoint (or whatever you call such considerations in the gameverse), and from the perspective of technical achievement. But, it didn’t blow me away.
Then, around the 3 minute mark, the real fun kicks in - demonstrating what appears to be seamless (lag free) and impressive intercutting between cinematics and gameplay, and some of the most frenzied and wicked BATaction I can recall seeing in quite a while. Note the small details like pedestrians scampering on the sides of the roads.
Will the whole of the game deliver on the promise of this relatively small sample?
We’ll find out ‘round June 23.
