Are we looking at the new Peter Parker?
According to Badass Digest's Devin Faraci, we might be. Marvel Studios is evidently determined to cast young with their new Peter Parker, and one of BD's sources claims that sixteen-year-old Mateus Ward (pictured above) is in the running for the role. The super-secret casting session took place at a house somewhere in Los Angeles, and an unknown number of teenaged actors read for the part. If Ward is the type they're after, let this be the end of any Miles Morales rumors that have been kicking around. Marvel's sticking with Parker for now.
Since Spider-Man will make an appearance in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, expect an official announcement soon, as the film will begin shooting in a couple of weeks. The first chapter in the third big-screen iteration of SPIDER-MAN hits theaters on July 28, 2017.
