Jonathan Liebesman Goes Arthurian With MAN AT ARMS!

With Guy Ritchie in production on KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR, THE GUY WHO PULLED THE SWORD FROM THE STONE AND ALL THAT, it seems like other folks are looking to get in on the Camelot game. There's a Roundtable origins tale called PENDRAGON in the works, and now Jonathan Liebesman is attached to a post-Camelot yarn titled MAN AT ARMS.

Written by Jeremy Lott (who made a splash last fall when Sony purchased his ambitious HOOD, a universe-building Robin Hood project), MAN AT ARMS is centered on an older Lancelot seeking to atone for his role in the collapse of Camelot (by porking Guinevere). The tone has been compared to UNFORGIVEN, which makes the involvement of Liebesman (TMNT, BATTLE: LOS ANGELES and WRATH OF THE TITANS) kind of curious. Basil Iwanyk, who helped bring the wonderful JOHN WICK to the big screen, is producing. I don't know how old Lancelot is in Lott's screenplay, but I say they give the role to the handsome feller pictured above.
