"I'm not sure at this point if it’s happening," David Lynch told an audience in Australia this weekend, speaking of the new 9-episode “Twin Peaks” series Showtime announced last October.
Showtime announced the new series in October and confirmed Kyle MacLachlan would reprise the role of FBI special agent Dale Cooper for the project, but Lynch now says he has yet to sign a contract with Showtime.
The “complications” in Lynch’s contract negotiations come despite the fact that Lynch and his “Twin Peaks” co-creator Mark Frost have already completed the nine scripts they wrote for the series, according to Lynch.
The October announcement indicated that the new, third season of “Twin Peaks” would arrive next year.
