A full trailer has been released for the upcoming third installment of the INSIDIOUS franchise.
INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 will be a prequel to the events of the first two films, and will focus on paranormal investigator Elise Rainier (genre great Lin Shaye), as she uses her powers as a medium to help a teenage girl who has been targeted by a malevolent entity.
“This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.“
The new film will be the directorial debut of series co-creator, Leigh Whannell, who stepped behind the camera when series director James Wan jumped over to the FAST & THE FURIOUS franchise. The film co-stars Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott.
I wasn't a huge fan of CHAPTER 2, but a new story involving Elise and her ghost hunting team (Leigh Whannell and Angus Sampson) looks like it could provide a good bit of creepy fun. What do you guys think?
INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 opens on June 5th.
