Joseph Kosinski, who brought us the admittedly uneven but frequently stunning coolness of TRON LEGACY…and the ‘it’s probably a bit slow’ but gorgeous and affecting OBLIVION…may be looking to adapt the hugely popular, style-intensive GRAN TURISMO video game series as a movie.
Plot details are being kept deep in the pit but at 2013’s Gamescon Kazunori Yamauchi, the lead designer of the Gran Turismo series, reportedly said it would center on a video game player turned racer.
That, however, was when the project had a script by Alex Tse. Sources tell Heat Vision that Kosinski will be developing a new script with the studio.

I have mixed feelings on this one. In terms of style, design, and thematics, Kosinski is one of the more interesting and promising directors today. On the other hand, I kinda want him to stop goofing around with so many other projects and make another TRON movie. One has been percolating for a bit, and it feels like there’s still story waiting to...begging to...be told there.
