It’s like something out of Sidney Lumet’s “Network”!
As examples of Bill O’Reilly’s potentially misleading comments mount (apparently when he said "I was in El Salvador and I saw nuns get shot in the back of the head," he meant he saw photos of nuns being shot in El Salvador), ratings only continue to grow for Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.”
Yesterday O’Reilly’s key-demo ratings skyrocketed to tie new episodes of “Wahlbergers,” “Donnie Loves Jenny” and MTV’s “Catfish” aftershow.
“Factor” ratings also clobbered MSNBC’s live interview with President Obama.
O’Reilly has also implied he was in a war zone during the Falklands conflict, and that he was proximate to the suicide of a key figure in the investigation of John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Researchers have questioned these accounts.
I only pray that no one discovers any falsehood in O’Reilly’s frequent claims that there’s a “war on Christmas.”
“Factor” rarely makes cable’s daily top 100, but here’s how it fared against TV’s other first-run Wednesday fare yesterday:
