Ryan Reynolds's DEADPOOL Finds His Leading Lady!

Monica Baccarin

Jeremy here...

The cast of Fox's DEADPOOL movie is starting to come together. Earlier this week, we learned that Gina Carano and T.J. Miller are onboard, and now we have The Hollywood Reporter informing us that Morena Baccarin (HOMELAND, GOTHAM and FIREFLY) will play the "female lead" in the Tim Miller-directed film. Her character is thus far without a name, but it seems likely she will be playing "Lindsay". Whether this character will wind up being someone important (like, oh, say Domino or Copycat or The Watcher), well, we'll just have to wait and see.

DEADPOOL's screenplay is currently credited to Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are probably best known for ZOMBIELAND. The best news this early in the production is that Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld is tweeting ecstatically about the process. Follow him at @robertliefeld, to keep up on the project.

DEADPOOL hits theaters February 12, 2016.
