Jeremy here...
It's been six years since Tom Hanks grew funny-looking hair to play everyone's favorite fictional Harvard professor, Robert Langdon. Is there still some box office juice in the franchise that gave us THE DA VINCI CODE and ANGELS & DEMONS? Fuck if I know, but Sony's about to find out.
INFERNO, based on yet another novel of mystery and intrigue by Dan Brown, is set to begin shooting this April. Ron Howard will once again direct his real-life buddy Hanks, with the formidable likes of Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy and Sidse Babett Knudsen coming along for the ride. Hey, Mr. Press Release! What's this movie about?
Inferno continues the Harvard symbologist’s adventures on screen: when Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s “Inferno.”
So start boning up on your circles of Hell, and all that good stuff, because I'm sure screenwriter David Koepp will not resort to a first-act info dump to make all of this absolutely clear to the viewer.
The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 14, 2016. Here are some darling headshots.
