Scenes like the one depicting the farmer’s wife’s goodbye to Edith’s Marigold are the reason I watch “Downton Abbey.” Also? Violet Crawley’s “It’s always something,” as she learned of Atticus Aldridge’s ethnicity.
Oh, and there’s also the strange and wonderful relationship that’s developed between gorgeous, wealthy former romantic rivals Mary Crawley and Mabel Lane Fox. Loved this exchange:
Mary: “Don’t be spiky, when I only want what you want – for you and Tony to walk into the sunset together.”
Mabel: “Then why turn up looking like a cross between a Vogue fashion plate and a case of dynamite?”
Mary: “Well, I can’t make it too easy for him.”
Finally, Isis’ behind is the first thing we see at the start of every episode. I do hope they don’t kill her off just because she shares a name with a terrorist state!
PBS says of tonight’s 5.7:
“Rosamund shows up at Downton following Edith's surprise departure. Rose is pleased to introduce Atticus and his parents to everyone. Anna and Bates think about a fresh start, now that that their problems seem to be behind them. Molesley is worried after Daisy becoming disillusioned with her studies. Mary and Blake seize a chance to send Gillingham a strong message.”

“Better Call Saul” enjoyed the biggest series premiere ratings in cable history. (Bear in mind “Breaking Bad” never scored better than a 1.5 until its final eight episodes, and its series finale was the only “Bad” episode that scored better than a 3.4.)
