Hey folks, Harry here taking a dip in the land of Hercules.   The notion of an ASH VS EVIL DEAD show on STARZ, where Raimi produced the amazingly kickass SPARTACUS series... well, that notion is so tantalizing!  Bruce Campbell getting an ASH show from a company that allows SPARTACUS levels of violence and gore...  OH YES PLEASE!  Then you look at this press release that we got today, and we see that ASH is going to be getting a Sancho Panza style character to Bruce's Deadite Ass-Kicking Don Quixote.  It seems that ASH will have companions on whatever & whereever this adventure will take them.... But I am so on board, fired up and anxious to see this almost more than anything else I can think of.   But that's just how much I love EVIL DEAD, particularly with Raimi and Bruce and Ivan involved!   This series could end human suffering all on its own.   It's that big a deal.   You'll see...  Politicians will start working together to take on the big problems facing our world, aliens will show up and they'll be awesome because they'll love the show!   Men and Women will realize we're all in this together and respect and love one another - and it's all going to hinge on ASH VS EVIL DEAD living up to its astonishing potential.   You know it, I know it!    Right?

RIGHT!  Now, here's the two actors and the press release that reveals more!  Sam Raimi directing the pilot has me DYING!!!   HOLY SHIT!   C'mon blow all Horror TV right the fuck away Sam!!!   He can do it!   Just totally unleash absolute resplendant madness.   I mean, THE OLD ONES might even come out of hiding just to watch this show and say... "Hey... RAY SANTIAGO AND DANA DELORENZO CAST IN “ASH VS EVIL DEAD”

Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) will play the role of Pablo Simon Bolivar and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) will play Kelly Maxwell in the STARZ original series “Ash vs Evil Dead.” The series is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise The Evil Dead and is set to film on location in New Zealand this spring and premiere on STARZ in late 2015.

Pablo Simon Bolivar is an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick – a Sancho Panza to Ash’s Don Quixote.  Pablo believes in Ash’s heroism even if Ash himself doesn’t.

Kelly Maxwell is a moody wild child trying to outrun her past.  Reluctantly dragged into the fight against Evil with Ash and Pablo, Kelly finds a different kind of family with her fellow Deadite slayers.

Santiago has recurred on television shows including “Bad Judge,” “Raising Hope,” and “Dexter”.    Additional film credits also include Suburban Gothic, Sex Ed, In Time, American Son and Girlfight among others.

DeLorenzo’s previous television credits include “Sullivan & Son,” “Workaholics,” “2 Broke Girls,”  “Californication,” “Growing Up Fisher” and “Eagleheart” among others.

Santiago and DeLorenzo join previously announced cast member Bruce Campbell (Ashley J. Williams).

Santiago is represented by TalentWorks, Levity Entertainment Group and Ginsburg Daniels.  DeLorenzo is represented by TalentWorks, 3 Arts Entertainment and Ginsburg Daniels.

The STARZ Original series “Ash vs Evil Dead” will be 10 half-hour episodes.  Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.  When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal.  Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

Raimi will direct the first episode of “Ash vs Evil Dead” that he wrote with Ivan Raimi (Darkman, Army of Darkness, Drag Me to Hell), Craig DiGregorio (“Workaholics,” “Chuck”) and Tom Spezialy (“Chuck,” “Reaper,” “Desperate Housewives”). Raimi will also serve as executive producer, along with Rob Tapert (Evil Dead, “Spartacus,” Xena: Warrior Princess”) and Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) and Craig DiGregorio (“Workaholics,” “Chuck”) will serve as executive producer/showrunner. Ivan Raimi will co-executive produce and Aaron Lam (“Spartacus”) will serve as producer.
