THR has our first look at Kevin Spacey as Nixon (r) and Michael Shannon as Elvis (l) in, well, a new movie called ELVIS & NIXON.
The film…
…is currently shooting in New Orleans and recreates the infamous, intimate Dec. 21, 1970 meeting between Nixon and Presley where Presley asked to be named a special FBI operative. (As fate would have it, Spacey arrived on the set the morning after winning the Golden Globe for his performance as Frank Underwood on House of Cards.)

The picture also stars Johnny Knoxville, Colin Hanks, and Evan Peters (AMERICAN HORROR STORY, Quicksilver in the DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and APOCALYPSE X-MEN movies). It’s co-written and Co- Executive Produced by Joey Sagal, who appeared in RETURN OF THE SWAMP thing and a rather disquieting NBC miniseries called WORLD WAR III back in the 80s. Hanala Sagal and Cary Elwes (yes, that Cary Elwes) are also scripters on the film.
