POLTERGEIST (2015) One Sheet Is Hereeeeee!!!

Hey folks, Harry here...   Gil Kenan is directing POLTERGEIST (2015) - I first became familiar with Gil Kenan on the superbly awesome that was MONSTER HOUSE!  I don't know about you, but I love MONSTER HOUSE!  It was an absolutely beautiful film made with every ounce of love for the genre that Gil could muster.   Then he made CITY OF EMBER, which didn't catch on huge, but again... it was beautifully shot and put together, and I feel greatly underappreciated.   Now that he's making POLTERGEIST, in many ways he faces his greatest test.

Seriously, there are few jobs in this world that I wouldn't wish upon a soul.   Still...  we are currently existing in a realm of horror that rarely if ever actually touches upon the A-GRADE Awesome of Tobe Hooper's original classic.   I don't care how many PARANORMAL ACTIVITY flicks or OUIJA films or THE POSSESSION of this person or that...   No.   None of them scare me like POLTERGEIST.

At the same time, I get that culturally, we live in completely different times - the suburban family life has continued.   The houses seem to get bigger these days and we're significantly distant from most folks even understanding what TV STATIC was.   More likely we get the Blue Screen of Death.   Or a message about not being able to get online, but that's only if you have Time Warner's Web Service...  I kid, I know they all apparently suck.

My hopes for the film is that it allows itself to be inspired by the original film, but to take it further.   Today, they released images of the little girl character at a screen with shadowy hands in the static...  a scary clown doll...    and that those symbols of the original film are present... I'm not sure if I'm comforted or slightly annoyed.   Gil is a fountain of creativity - and at least they've gone with a different image to denote creepy in the poster... here... take a look...   Tomorrow morning, we'll have the trailer...  at some point.   Here you go:
