Fox Wants Disney To Give It A Live-Action X-MEN TV Series!!

I am – Hercules!!

While Fox controls rights to make “X-Men” movies, Disney controls the TV rights to the franchise, and Fox now confirms there are talks between the two media giants aimed at bringing marvel mutants to the small screen.

(Perhaps if Disney licensed some X-Men TV rights to Fox, Fox might let Disney borrow Quicksilver’s dad for future “Avengers” movies?)

Until music-biz soap “Empire” sauntered in, comic-book derived “Gotham” was the biggest new series on Fox this season.

Given that the long-running X-Men movie series remains incredibly popular (last year’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” grossed more than $739 million worldwide) speculation has it that the series should focus on some of the many Marvel mutants not yet featured in the movies.

One pitch could involve the superhero team X Factor, though the name might have to change to avoid confusion with the Simon Cowell singing competition Fox cancelled last year.

In 1996, four years before Bryan Singer’s original “X-Men” movie reshaped the onscreen superhero landscape, Fox attempted something similar with its “Generation X” mutant-superhero project, but its TV-movie pilot (see above) never made it to series.

Of course Fox had more success with the "X-Men" animated series that ran Saturday mornings on the channel between 1992 and 1997.
