Julia Roberts To Make Batkid Movie!

Here Comes Batkid

Batman may be Gotham City's protector, but its greatest inspiration by far is Batkid.

On November 15, 2013, the world was introduced to five-year-old Miles Scott, a tough-as-nails kid who took a break from his heroic battle with leukemia to save Gotham (aka San Francisco) as Batkid. It was an amazing story: everyone from the SFPD to the Mayor to President Barack Obama pitched in to fulfill Miles's wish to play sidekick to his favorite superhero. Having spent too much of his short life battling cancer, foiling the fiendish plots of The Riddler and The Penguin was literally child's play.

Miles's story is the subject of a new documentary titled BATKID BEGINS (check out the awesome Drew Struzan-illustrated poster below), which just premiered at Slamdance. Unsurprisingly, Hollywood couldn't resist celebrating his exploits: ergo, according to Deadline, Julia Roberts is now attached to produce and star in a feature based on the documentary.

Of course, the best news of all is that Miles has been cancer free for over a year. Way to go, Batkid!
