NBC vets Jenna Fischer (“The Office”), Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace,” “Parks & Recreation”) and Rob Lowe (“The West Wing,” “Parks and Recreation”) has all signed aboard Sky/NBC’s “Apocalypse Slough,” the 10-episode ensemble dramedy about people coping as a massive comet heads for a collision that will wipe out all life on Earth.
Fischer plays a meek librarian looking to break out of her New Mexico maximum-security prison home and reunite with her family; Mullally plays a nutty white supremacist who helps her.
Lowe plays “the Vatican’s most rebellious priest.”
The series was created by Iain Hollands (Channel 4’s “Beaver Falls”).
It is not to be confused with “The Last Man on Earth,” Fox’s end-of-the-world comedy created by and starring Will Forte, which launches March 1.
