‘I Don’t Have To Do Anything!!’
Hercules Quite Enjoys Tonight’s Ben Edlund-Scripted GOTHAM!!

I am – Hercules!!

Gotham 1.12 FAQ

What’s it called?
“What The Little Bird Told Him.”

Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Ben Edlund, who created a superhero called The Tick before Joss Whedon hired him to write “Firefly” and “Angel.” I loved Edlund’s first “Gotham” teleplay, “Spirit of the Goat.”

What says Fox?
“In an attempt to get his job back, Gordon seeks to capture Jack Gruber (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl), a deranged electrical genius who escapes Arkham Asylum. Meanwhile, Falcone struggles to hold onto his empire after Fish Mooney makes her next move. Guest Cast: Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, David Zayas as Maroni, Christopher Heyerdahl as Jack Gruber, Anthony Carrigan as Victor Zsasz, Kevin McCormick as Danzig, Dash Mihok as Detective Arnold Flass, Peter Scolari as Commissioner Loeb, Adrian Martinez as Irwin, Caroline Lagerfelt as Mrs. Kean, Richard Poe as Mr. Kean, Victor Cruz as Desk Sergeant.”

How does it start?
A CGI newspaper floats to the streets of Gotham, informing us “Arkham Lunatic Duo Escape!” The escaped lunatic duo step on that newspaper.

Is Jack Gruber really Hugo Strange?
“We can’t find any records on Gruber prior to his incarceration,” explains Bullock’s boss, “so we’re guessing ‘Gruber’ is an alias.”

Does Dr. Leslie Thompkins get naked with Gordon this week?
She visits Gordon’s new digs.

What does Arkham look like after last episode’s mayhem?
We don’t get to see. And Gordon is not seen in his guard uniform this week.

Fish henchman Butch killed a childhood friend last week. Do we see much of Butch this week?
We see Butch tonight.

Are Catgirl and Ivy still hanging out in Gordon’s old apartment?
Cat and/or Ivy are not glimpsed this week.

What’s doing with the lesbitastic Barbara Kean and Renee Montoya?
Kean returns to a place she’s not visited in some time. Montoya sits out tonight’s installment.

Does Kean return to her clocktower apartment? Or wherever Gordon is living now?
No and no.

Where is Gordon living now?
We see his new place this week.

Does Ed Nygma annoy any new coworkers this week?
No new ones. But he does show up to reveal another name for Gruber.

Does Harvey Dent barely contain a fit of rage this week?
No Dent or Dent coinage this week.

Does Penguin finally kill Fish this week?
That would be telling.

The big news?
For the second episode in a row, no Bruce or Alfred.

What else is Fox not telling us?
GCPD file clerk Kristen Kringle turns up for the first time since “Spirit of the Goat”; Nygma gives her a riddle.

What’s good?
The escaped lunatic duo’s attire. Gruber’s machines. The way Gordon smiles at Bullock as they ascend to their meeting with the commissioner. Christopher Heyerdahl as Jack Gruber. Peter Scolari as the commissioner. John Doman as Falcone. “I don’t have to do anything.” “It’s menacing and weird and inedible.” “Very urgent business with Falcone.” “I didn’t think it was going to be you.” “You think you’ve been careful so far?”

What’s not so good?
Zsasz doesn’t get as showy a role this week, but I’m not really complaining.

How does it end, spoiler boy?
“There’s been a big shoot-out at Fish Mooney’s place.”

8 p.m. Monday. Fox.
