Before Benedict Cumberbatch became one of the latest Sherlock Holmes in 2010, he was Stephen Hawking in 2004’s BBC TV-Movie “Hawking,” which looked at the physicist’s early life much as current Oscar hopeful “The Theory of Everything” does. Discovery is re-airing it at 10 p.m. tonight.
Another fellow, of course, is playing Hawking in “Theory” while Cumberbatch plays another British genius, computer pioneer Alan Turing, in the World War II drama “The Imitation Game.”
On Nov. 26, 1986, Paramount released a movie about James Kirk and Mr. Spock chasing down humpback whales in San Francisco. On Dec. 20, 1986, William Shatner hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the first and only time. Kevin Nealon played Spock, Victoria Jackson played Janice Rand, Phil Hartman played Bones McCoy and Dana Carvey played Khan Noonian Singh. Jackson played Heather Locklear and Carvey played Adrian Zmed in the T.J. Hooker sketch.
