Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the 21 and 22 JUMP STREET dudes who also brought us the wonderfully refreshing LEGO MOVIE last year, recently spoke with Empire about their plans for the upcoming sequel to their bricky wonder.
"Well I don’t want to give you spoilers but we were really interested in what happens to that boy who’s in the meta story in the first movie when he’s four years older. When he’s an adolescent how does that change his point of view?
"And it to have the characters start in a different place from the first movie. Emmet, for example, was in an existential crisis of having seen another dimension and was questioning the whole point of his existence.”

While Lord and Miller are reprising scripting duties for the sequel, it’s still not entirely clear who’ll actually be directing the 2018 release. Originally it sounded like the duo wouldn’t helm the picture. Then it sounded like they would. Now it’s sounding like they won’t again. It’ll be interesting to see how this shakes out.
Does the above synopsis imply Will Ferrell will return as well?
