Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Earlier today we got a look at the poster and now we finally have the first trailer for Marvel's Ant-Man. And... I don't know. I'm neither overwhelmed or underwhelmed. It just is.
I dig the voiceover, it's super cool seeing Michael Douglas in the Marvel Universe and Paul Rudd is one of my favorite movie personalities period, so I'm happy with him in the footage, which looks sharp.
The problem is just with the teaser. I don't get a feeling of fun or adventure, like I did with the Guardians, Avengers and Iron Man trailers. The best part for me is the family aspect and that being the motivation for Rudd to suit up and take a silly name.
On the whole, the trailer doesn't feel great, doesn't look shitty... it's just there for me. But it is just a trailer afterall. I'm still very much looking forward to the full feature. I mean, who doesn't want to watch a movie with Paul Rudd riding an ant around?
