DEADPOOL poaches a recruit from SILICON VALLEY!

Looks like Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds' DEADPOOL is actually finally happening, and now they've got a couple of additional cast members onboard.

T.J. Miller had a hell of a 2014, between regularly stealing whole episodes on SILICON VALLEY to cracking wise as the stoner-y Fred in BIG HERO 6 to reprising his role as Tuffnut in HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 and getting torched to a cinder in the first act of TRANSFORMERS 4 (he also did a ton of stand-up dates and TV appearances…his work ethic is well-known). He's got another season of SILICON VALLEY and a hilarious turn in SEARCH PARTY coming up, and now it looks like he'll be serving as some sort of comic relief opposite the already-jocular Merc With The Mouth.

As someone who likes Miller's cut of laid-back goofiness, I'm down with the idea of him providing real-time wisecracks alongside the ones in DEADPOOL's narration, but I can see how some find his patented style grating. While I hope they don't go too comic with this flick, Miller's self-reflexive style matches up with the tone of DEADPOOL's fourth-wall-breaking asides, and will probably add to the overall sense of self-deprecation.

Ed Skrein is less well-known, and his biggest credit to date was as the first incarnation of Daenerys Targaryen's boytoy Daario before Michiel Huisman took over the role in Season 4. He's also set to follow Jason Statham and Chris Vance as Frank Martin in the upcoming reboot, THE TRANSPORTER LEGACY. They're assuming he's playing a villain, but I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be a henchman or something to a baddie with a higher marquee value.

More than anything, this news just makes me stoked that they're actually pulling the trigger on this flick.

DEADPOOL slices and dices and everything nices on February 12th, 2016.
